Get Connected - Join a LIFE Group!
Our vision and purpose at CCC is to be a “transforming community.” Our LIFE Groups help to build relationships while being a venue for spiritual growth. People gather together to experience and grow in community while giving practical application to the teachings of Scripture. Our mission to make disciples is strengthened as group members are moved by love and compassion to serve others. LIFE Groups provide a context for spiritual growth, evangelism, encouragement, Christian friendships, learning, and connection in our church. ???What is the Purpose of a LIFE Group?
To change lives for eternity.
What is a LIFE Group?
A LIFE Group is a small group of five to twelve persons meeting weekly outside the church building for the purpose of glorifying God through evangelism, community, and discipleship with the goal of multiplication.
What are the Core Values of LIFE Groups?
1. LIFE Groups live out New Testament community by:
a. Worshiping and praising God through song and testimony (Eph. 5.18-21).
b. Sharing biblical truth while fostering a learning environment. (1 Tim. 4.16).
c. Praying for the needs of individuals, the church, the community, and the world. (Luke 19.46).
d. Serving others as doers and not hearers only (James 1.22; Phil. 2.1-4).
e. Building group relationships that are open, honest, and pure (Matt. 5.22-24).
f. Being accountable to others in the group and the corporate church (Heb. 3.13; 2 Tim. 3.16).
2. Groups fulfill the Great Commission by inviting others.
3. Groups advance God’s Kingdom through multiplication.
4. Groups develop new leaders by sharing responsibilities.
5. Groups strengthen individuals, marriages, and families by being intergenerational.
Where Do LIFE Groups Meet?
Our groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the Lawrence and Douglas County area.
What Is The Required Commitment?
Joining a LIFE Group requires commitment from its members. Members are asked to regularly attend the weekly group gatherings. Of course, group members will understand situations where illness, work, and family responsibilities intersect with group life, yet commitment the key to a strong LIFE Group, a strong church, and your personal spiritual growth.
What Will You Study?
Topics of study are decided upon by the group members. Some groups study the previous weekend's sermon, others may study a particular book of the Bible, and others may study a certain topic of interest.
What About Childcare?
An emphasis of our LIFE Groups is that they be intergenerational, meaning that the groups include several generations. This certainly includes children. Including the children in group life is not simply another childcare option. It is a vital step towards fulfillment of our core values while ministering to and serving your family. If having children in your small group is new to you, your group leader will help you understand why we encourage intergenerational LIFE Groups.
How Do I Sign Up?
You can sign up for a LIFE Group by calling the church office at 785-842-7600. We can help connect you with a group that's right for you.
